David Reed was obliged to use a staff re- cently on account of numerous aches and pains which he sustained from a load of logs rolling on him in an upset. T. B. He is out on bail, however, and the prosecutor in the case alleges that no amount of money the jury can award her will com- pensate her for her lacerated pride and dis- appointed hopes. On Tuesday, the 29th, D. G. Meek will sell at public sale his entire stock of Percheron horses, Holstein and Guernsey cattle, Shrop- shire sheep and good hogs. Breon and family were called to the bedside of his step-father, Jacob Houtz, who has not improved within the week. Mrs. Isaac Tressler, moved Thursday of last week to the home of Mrs. Loesch, her daughter, with whom she will make her home. Jared Mayes and family departed for Watsontown, Thursday of last week, where they intend making their future home and he will engage in the marble business. Alfred Rishel’s coming to the Schreck sale raised quite a bit of excitement and especial- ly the Monday morning following when W. Schrecks little niece wanted to go to school, for a number of the patrons had made it known that if she went to school they would keep their children out, so she had to be turned out. G. W. The oyster supper was a decided success. Proceeds amounted to twenty-three dollars ‘for the benefit of the Evangelical church, The first commencement exercises of the Hublersburg High school March 28th. Music by the Bellefonte orchestra. Exercises to be held in the Presbyterian church. Baccalauerate sermon to be preached by Rev. Crow in the Reformed church Sunday evening March 27th.
