P D WILSON„ 11 VALENTINE,JR , b 1 T 61ILLIKEN, EL) lILANCIIAItD, A Sox MURDERS HIS MOTHER —The Prov idence Evening Press gives an account of I shocking murder in North Kingstown, on Sunday morning last, which was perpetrat ed by Daniel Browning. a well•fo-do colored man, an only son, upon his mother, Mrs. Content Browning, who was fifty• four years old. The murder was done with an axe, at 4 o'clock in the morning, the wnitched son burying the axe in his mother's skull as she lay sleeping in bed. After committing the deed; the murderer went to a neighboring farmer. said that he had murdered bid moth er, had been thinking of doing it for some days. that she was a witch, and Wits be witching him, and would kill him if he lid not kill her. The coroner's inquest render ed a verdict of wilful murder, and Browning was lodged in jail to await his trial at the Court of Common Pleas in Novembor. It is said that Browning has been the sub ect of•mono-mania in regard to his mother bewitching him..
