Detectives Franklin and Tryon searched the house for evidences of the crime, bnt found none. Dr. Shapleigh. attended the case, having been called in on Wednesday evening. The alleged offense took place about one month ago. The lady had been attending to her usual duties until Saturday last, since which time she had been gradually sinking until the time of her death, as stated. At 5 o'clock yesterday Drs. TLio new preparation of this marln vegetable (if it may bo so culled) was patented only a few weeks ago under the name of Ska Moim 1'ahine, and its purity, pslataliility, and extraordinary nutriments! properties areattntod by competent scientific autbority, and by those still more potential ovidencesof oxnollence general popularity and extensive sales. Tho addition to oar national bill of fare of an article whloli is claimed to be pre eminently eoono mlo, as well as peculiarly wholosome, nourishing, and de licious, is a matter of great interest to the public, and, therefore, a proper subject of newspaper comment. Ac cordingly, the attrition of the press, in all parts ot the country, has been attracted to this now pro duct, or rather this new manufacture of a nataral product woll known to the sciontitio world for its fatten ing, strength-sustaining qualities, Editors and news paper correspondents In all parts of the country soem to have investigated the merits of the Sea Moss Ferine pretty thoroughly. It has been subjected to the export mcntum crucis in numborless kitchens, and to the oriti cism of numberless epicurean palates, and the result, as far as we can Judge, is a nntversal verdict in its favor. It has been placed, so to speak, In the front rank of onr food staples, and all that has been said of it by the pat entee (Mr. Hand), and the Company interested in its sale, appears to be approved and confirmed by publio opinion. Its uses, as set forth by the report of soiontifio ex perls, are many and various. In tbe first place, when em ployed in the preparation of puddings, custards, blano mange, creams, graela, and scores of other delicacies for the family table or the sick room, it adds largely to tbe quantity of nutriment derivable from the other mate rials; snd in theseoond place renders the dish, whatever it may be, far more digestible and agreeable to the taste than it would have been without this cheap and pure in gredient, finch is the testimony of a large number of the most prominent hotel keepers in New York and other cities, and of a committee appointed by the Farmers' Club of the American Institute to pronounce judgment on the new edible. The eommitteo of ladies, among whom was an eminent medical graduate and the wife of the Secretary of the Institute, state in their report that a packet ef Sea Moss Ferine, costing twenty-five cents, will produce, when combined with milk in due propor tion, full sixteen quarts of blano mange, while a packet of corn Btarch, maizena or farina, costing sixteen cents, will only produce, with the like quantity of milk, from four to six quarts thus showing that the new food sta ple is actually worth, as a means of nourishment, about otia hundred and Aty per cent, more than the heretofore popular preparations from maize and grain. It is also stated that it has none of the heating properties of ordi nary farinaceous food, and is digested and assimilated with wonderful rapidity. As fur as we can judge, the conclusions at which tho sciontitio world, the press, and the publio have arrived witb regard to Rand's Sea Mess Ferine are founded on incontrovertible facts, and we bavo no hesitation in warmly recommending the artiole to our readers as an essential of the economio cnisine, and as a genuine lux ury. To dyspoptios we feel assured it will prove an in valuable blessing. It is manufactured by a company with ample means (located at No. 63 Park place, New York), known as the Sea Mobs Farine Company.
