Ttio cable announces the death of Augusto-Mlchel-Warle-Etlenne, Comte de Hegnand-De-8alnt-Jean-D'Angetly, Marshal of Franco, who expired jester day at Paris, aged seventy-uve years. Ho was the son of the famous French general of the same name, and was born on the 29th of July, 1794. He entered the military school of St. Germain In 1811, and In 1312 he wag assigned to service as sub-lieutenant In the grand army designed for the Invasion of Kuslta. At the battle of I.elpsio his regiment was almost entirely cut to pieces, but he mado his escape and took part In the concluding campaigns of Napoleon. On tho field of Waterloo he distinguished himself by his valor, and was noml natedtcftpdywoi'wt by the Emperor. Ho accepted service under the restoration, and distinguished himself by his military talents. In 1825 he accom panied General Malson to the Korea, and took part in the campaign there, winning high honors. In 1840 he was appointed to the military command of the Department of Meurtho, and In 1848, on the esta blishment of the republic, he was placed In com mand of the Army of the Alps, and shortly after he was made Uencral of Division. In 1349 he was returned ot the Legislative Assembly by the C'harente lnfcrioure, and for about a fortnight in 1ST1 he held the portfolio of the War Department. After the coup d'etat ho became a Sena tor, and In 1SS9 he was created a Marshal of France. lie was made Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor in January, 1349, and In December of the sarao year he received the Grand Cross. He was Vice-President of the Senate in 1302, and at the time of bis death he was Colonel of the Imperial Guards. Claude Alphonse Relative This distinguished French lawyer and statesman, whose death is announced by cable, was born at Tarzy, In the Department of Nlevre, on the 6th of April, 1797. He studied law under the patronage of M. Dupin, Jr., and was admitted to the Paris bar, where he speedily acquired distinction, and was elected a member of the Counuil la 1831 and batto nler In 1337. In 1340 he was elected Advocate-General of the Cour de Cassation, and in 147 Procureur feieneral of the Cour Royal of Paris. In spite of a bitter opposition In 1846, he was elected Deputy for Cosmes, In the Department of Nlevre, and retained his seat until the revolution of 184S, when he resumed his placo at tho Tarts bar. He embraced the cause of Louis Napoleon, and In 1850 he was appointed President of the Bureau de l'As eistauce Judiclaire de la Cour de Cassation. Iii,lSfl, shortly after the coup a'ctat, he was nominated Pre sident of the section of the Interior for Public In struction ami Worship In the Council of State ; and he was one of the commissioners chosen to repre sent the Government in the deliberations of the Senate relative to the re-establishmcnt of the em pire. In lsra he became Procureur-General of the Cour de Cassation in placo of M. Dupin, and In De cember of the same year lie was appointed Chief President of the Cour Imperl ale of Paris, and was created Senator. In addition, he was a member of the Municipal and Departmental Commission of the Seine and of the Imperial Council of Public Instruc tion. In 1853 M. Dclange succeeded General Kspinaase as Minister of the Interior, and In 18."9 he was appointed by decree Minister of Justice, with the title of Keeper of the Seals. This office he resigned June 23, 1803. He was chosen first Vice-President of the Senate on the lwth of October, 103, In place of M. Rouland, and on the 5th of March, 18r9, he was elected a member of the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences. M. Delangc was a Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor, and be was the author or a work entitled "Tralte sur les Socletes Commerciales," and of several articles on jurisprudence contributed to the Gazette oVs Tribunaux. The Petersburg Index estimates the peanut crop ot lrginm last season at .wu.uuu bushels.
