of Highways no and lit hereby authorized to con
struct tho following sewera, viz :
Walnut Btreet, from Thirteenth street to tho
eHt euro lino of Broad street, three feet In diame
ter. Ninth street, from the sewer in Jarite street
to the south lino of Arch street, three feet in
diameter.
Schell street, from Vine street three hundred-
feet southwurd, two feet six luetics In
diameter.
Marshall street, from Coates street to the
snath curb lino of Green Btreet, threo foot In
diameter.
Franklin Btreet, from Thompson street to
the north curb lino of oxford street, throe feet In
diameter.
Carlton street, from Twenty-second street to
tho went lino of Twenty-first street, three feet in
diameter.
Tulip streot, from Huntingdon street to tho
northeast curb line of Tucker street, two feet six
inches in diameter.
Hare street, from Ringgold street to the east
curb line of Tweuty-iirth street, threo feet in
diameter.
Franklin street, from Willow street to tho
north line of recn street, three feet In dlamntor.
Fifteenth street, from Nidge avenue to the north
line of Parrish street, three feet in diameter.
Said sewer a to be built of brick, circular
In form, and in accordance with BpecUlya.

bids will bo rtccived for the sewers above designated,
and he snail allot them to the lowest and best bid
der; and it shall be a condition of said contract that
the contractor shall accept tho sums assessed upon
and charged to tho properties lying on the lino of
said sewers In manner and form authorised by ordi
nance entitled '"An Ordinance Regulating the As
sessment Tpon Property for the Construction of
Branch Cnlverts or Drains," approved May 12, 19C8;
any excess over ami above said assessment to be
charged to Item (for branch culverts) of annual ap.

Resolved, Pv the Selcst and Common Connclls of
the City of Philadelphia, That the Department of
Highways, etc, be and Is hereby authorized to con
struct a Sewer across Master street, upon the line of
creek Bouth of Thlrty-OrHt street, in the Twentieth
ward: To have a clear drain or six feet, and such
length as may be required to allow tho said Master
street to be filled to establish grade and be built In
accordance with plan and speclilcatlo a prepared by
the Chler Engineer and Surveyor. The cost of said
work to bo paid from Item for Branch Sewers of
appropriation to tho Department of Highways for
the year 1800.

Pavement.
Kesolved, Bv the Select and Common Councils of
the City of Philadelphia, That the L. S. Filbert
Vulcanized Pavement Company be and tho same are
hereby authorized to lay their vulcanized pavement
on Main street, Manayunk, and on Vino street, rroin
Second to St. John street, provided that tho city shall
be at no expense tor the laying or the same. Pro
vided, also, that the parties above-named Bhall give
bonds, with approved security, for the replacing or
the pavement to Its original condition, if the same
should not prove satisfactory to the Department or
Highways.

the City of Philadelphia, That the Department or
Highways be and is hereby authorized and directed
to enter Into a contract with a competent paver or
pavers, who shall be selocted by a majority or pro-
Eerty owners rroutlng on Charter street, from Am
er street to Trenton avenue, In the Nineteenth
ward, for the paving thereof; the conditions of
which contract shall be that tho contractor or con
tractors shall collect the cost of said paving from
the property owners respectively, and shall also
enter Into an obligation with tho city to keep the
said street in good order for three years after the
paving is finished.

Commissioners or Falrmonnt Park.
Section 1. The Select and Common Connclls of tha
City of Philadelphia do ordain, That the further
sum of five hundred thousand dollars be nl Is
hereby appropriated out of the proceeds of
tho loan authorized by an ordinance approved
the twenty-sixth day of December, A. D. 18(19,
1N0S. entitled "An Ordinance to creato a loan for the
further extension of Falrmonnt Park and for the
Improvement thereof," for the purpose of paying the
damages awarded or to be awarded to
tho owners of property for ground taken or
to be taken for Falrmonnt Park, confirmed
by the Court of Quarter Sessions; and the fur
ther sum of two hundred thousand dollars be and
Is hereby appropriated out of the proceeds of said
loan for the laying out, construction and Improve
ment thcreor for public use.
Section 8. Warrants for tho same shall bo drawn
by the Park Commissioners, in conformity with ex
isting ordinances, in such sums as may from time to
timo be necessary: Provided, however, that no sum
shall be payable for damages for ground taken ex
cept under the order and decreo of the Court
of Quarter Sessions of Philadelphia County, di
recting payment and distribution of tha sums re
