A meeting of Jlepulili '.'in ) was held at Diligent Hall, on Sat unlay night, for the pur pose of inaugurating a reform in the mode of selecting candidates for ottice. Mr. Isaac Atkinson presided, and H. C. Hawkins acted as Secretary. After an address by Major A. 11. Calhoun, a series of resolutions wore re ported, among them the following: Jbxolvtd, That as an earnest of our dosiro to form nn organization free from the inllu enee of rings and cliques, wo declare one of our cardinal rules to bo embodied in our rule, that no portion vivo shall be an appli cant or contestant for or an incumbent of any political oflico, either elective or by ap pointment under general, State, county, or city government, except division election ofli cers, shall be competent to be an officer of this organization, or a chairman of any of the standing committees thereof. After the nppointment of a committee of ten on the rules, the meeting adjourned. Detective Heilman and Officer Hause visited the old Richmond district on Saturd iv, and found a still in operation back of No. 10 to William street, vhich was torn out. Evidence of a still having been recently torn out was found back of No. Richmond street. At both places a large quantity of mash was found. The revenue officers were surrounded by a crowd of men, women, and children, who amused themselves by throwing stones at the officers. The annual field practice of tho Philadel phia Ride Corps, Captain William Langon heim, commences to-day, at Washington Re treat, and will continue1 for three days. To day and Tuesday the firing will be exclusively by the members and friends. On Wednesday the company will be enlivened by the pre sence of the families of the members, and the rifle practice will be confined to the ladies, l'rizes and premiums will be fired for on all the days, amounting in the aggregate to near $800. Between six and seven o'clock last night an incendiary fired tho extensive three-story frame grist mill or McKoon A Bingham, in close proximity to tho Delaware, at the foot of Tenn street, Camden, New Jersey, and although every effort was mado to stay tho names, the building was qmckly consume J. Ihe saw mill adjoining, a one-story irarm, next ignited, and ww also destroyed. Then the flames made their way among the pilei of lumber in tho yard immediately adjoining, and before they were chocked a largJ quan tity of flooring and other sawed woods was burned. The grist mill was an old structure, and was formerly used as a hat factory. It contained about $1000 worth of grain, which was con sumed. The machinery in both mills was rendered worthless by tho heat. Tho firm estimate their entire loss on the mills and lumber between "., 000 an 1 ;i,(rK), and their insurance at 000, divided among the Girard and Homo of this city and tho R yal of Liverpool. The fire wan first discovered in tho southern end of the first floor of the grist mill, ne ir the engine-room, and it is said that but a few minutes before this a couple of men were noticed leaving tho building, anl it is n 10- posed that olio of them kindled tho fire.
