The following official ac count of the landing of filibusters in the Eastern Department has been made public: Seven hun dred men disembarked on the night of the liith inst. in the Bay of Nifel. quietly took up a posi tion, mounting six kguns and "fortifying three houses. They remained undiscovered thirty-six hours. Captain Mo.o attacked them with" one hundred and twenty men, using the bayonet. One of the houses was stormed and a flag cap tured. He was finally obliged to retire, his am munition giving out. The filibusters lost sixty killed and one hundred and sixty-nine wounded. The Spaniards had four killed. The 1'rt nsa adds that the filibusters fired three cannon shot into the steamer Mazella, damaging her hull and rigging. Colonel Robert Camp hell, of this city, left last evening for Wash ington, nt tho solicitation of the President, through the Secretary of War, to meet several prominent gentlemen selected from different sections of the country, to confer upon matters looking to the amelioration of tho Indians. The conference will take place in Wash'iLgtou on Wednesday next. A despatch from Helena. Montana, says from 150 to 200 Santce-Sioux attacked the settloni'snt on tho Musselshell river on May S. Seventy white men remained in the stockade, and sixty sallied out on tho Indians, when a desperate fight ensued, lasting seven hours, and thirty Indians were killed, including n half-breed, and thirty were scalped. The remainder escaped by swimming the river. One white man was killed, and Brother badly wounded. It is reported that reinforcements of 200 to :W0 Santce-Sioux are coming up to attack Musselshell again, but the whites are prepared for them. Iron Mountain Itiillrond. The President of the St. Louis and Iron Moun tain Railroad has received a despatch lrom Mr. Anderson, President of the Memphis Commer cial Convention, informing him that the people will subscribe the million acres ol land asked for the extension of the Iron Mountain Railroad to Memphis.
