William II. Holcombc, M. D. Thin work Is a

PUbjccU of lovo and marriage, berc and here
after, according; to the Swcdenboiulan tenets.
The anthor endeavors to show that the religion
of Swcdcnborp; Is a very different thins from
modem spiritualism, aud that sex, love, and
marriage arc universal and eternal. There arc
many eloquent passages In the book, and It will
be read with interest by those who agree with
the Tlews of tho writer.
"The Tennessenn in Persia and Koordistan,"
hy Rev. Uwlgbt W. Marsh, is the record of the
life, labors, and observations of an Amcrieuu
missionary, .Samuel Audley Shea, who resided
for a number of years in Persia. The work de
scribes a portion of Asia but little visited and
but little known. As a narrative of travel and
adventure in a strange country It is interesting,
but Christian readers will be particularly attracted
by theaeoountof Mr. 8hea'slabors in behalf of the
conversion of the natives and the spread of the
Christian rcligiou. The work is profusely illus
trated with maps and engravings.
