On Monday tiext tbat burlesque on aouanlty, the Irish drama, will be auooeeded by another burle-que, wblnb tae enterprise of Manager Hemphill will Introduce to the Poll v delpnla pnoim. Fvllx R -sera, Jennie WMmore. and LlEEle Wllimore .will appear In some of tbe best burle-queit of I be day, commenolDg on Monday In tbelr original parts In Barnard's estravagansa of liion. This pleoe baa bnen Played recently wlm mnch sunoews In New York and other cities, and It Is paid lo be nlgnly DlertalnlDg. Mr. Kogerw and tbe Mioses Will mora bave a high repntailon In Eagiaada flrsurate artists la their particular line, and we bespeak (or tbem a favorable reoeptlou In this olty. Tbe London JUuxtraled Newt speaks of tbee Artiste as follows: " We gl ve this eek portraits of those clever and well-known burlesque Artistes, Mr. and Mrs Felix Kofyrs the iauer better known as Miss Jeunle Wllimore. The lady and gentleman, tbe subject of these few remarks, have no very lengthy oareer to look back upon, bat what their professional career lacks In length is amply made up tor by Us brllllanoy. Mr. Rogers and Mlsi Willrnore were amongst tbe company toat opened under Mrs. ftelby at the New Royally, and played In the first piece produced by tbat management. We forget the tide of tbe piece, but we reoolleot tbat there were a lot of amnteur sailors in It, tbat Mr. Rogers and Miss Wllimore were two of tbem, and tbat both lady and genteinngave taste of their qullty as comedians and dancers, wbloh was even then tnougnt pre eminently promtniDg. Almost Immediately After, Mr. Burnard supplied tbe new and then hopeful management with Ha first burlesque. This was tbe now world-famous J Hon. To ex pend a sentence on the subject of the popu larity attained by this burlexque would be sheer extravagance. Every town throughout the three kingdoms, ay, and the colonies, too, that owns a theatre, has bad lis wails placarded with announcements of the performance of that most popu lar or all burlesques. The popularity of Jxion, however, was, as Is frequently the case, due to a number of clronmstanoen rather than to the one circumstance of ltslntilnslo excel lence. Tbe pleoe is undoubtedly brilliant, and Is, perhaps, still tbe best work of tbe author and the most popular bnrleeqne ever written. One of the causes, then, of the exceptional suc cess of Jxion was the aotlug of Mr. Felix Rogers, and another w4 tbe aotlug of pretty M las Jennie Wllimore. Tbe other causes we need not enter Into now Mr. Felix Rogers play el. or created, the 'Minerva' of that piece. Uls wonderfully comio portrayal of the immertil bluestocking, and bis side-splitting recital of poor Dr. Walts' 'When doge delight? are things not likely to be soon forgotten by those under Whose notloe they on me. The hit made by Miss Wllimore in 'Ixton was no less deeided. Her piquant style, the excellent noint with which she enunoUted Mr. Barnard's Jokes, and her graceful and clever dancing took tbe crltloal first night's audience by storm; and the posi tion thus gained at a single bound has been maintained since before all audiences. After leaving the New Royaltv, whlou they did ou the break-up of Mrs Helby'g management. Mr. K of ere and Miss Wllimore went into the Jrovlnces. playing -wherever tbey went in xion and other pieces with tbe greatest sac cess. Mr, Rogers then got. Mr. Barnard to write him another bnrltsqoe. the copyright and sole rlgbt of playing which be purchased. This burlesque was Sappho, a work wbloh, beside being every way worthy of tbe author of jxion, and In some resoects. as we think, superior to that piece, supplies Mr. Rogers, In tbe char acter of the heroine, with a part stilt more elaborate than 'Minerva,' and still better eN cnlaied for tbe display of his peculiar powers. His and Miss Willmore's playing la this pleoe have met with similar success aooorded to their Slaying their orialnal parts In Jxion. They ave, since their first appearance la London at tbe New Royalty, and In the Intervals between their various tours In the provinces, playe-i en gagements together in tbe Hurrey and Adelphl, Mr. Rogers has also plaved a season at the ht. James's, and Mlsa Wllimore one at the Prlnoess'." AT TBI Arch Shakespoare's comedy of Much Ado About Nothing will be performed for tbe last times this evening, to-morrow, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Friday Miss Llzele Price will have a bene fit, and on Baturday Mr. Maokay will make a Similar appeal to bis friends. At thi (Jhesnct O. D. Hess & 0o.'b burlesque company will appear to-morrow evenlna in Brough'a extravaganxa of The Field of the Cloth of Gold. This piece has been performed with great soccers In Chicago, and It is promised that It shall be put upon the stage at the Ones nut in handsome style. Many of the artists in this oompany are old established favorites here. At TBI Academy of Music Frauleln Fanny Janausohek Will commence a short season of six performances of German drama this even lna. Jatiansobek Is one of the great actresses of the day; and those who admire dramatic art should make It a point to see her. Bohlller's tragedy of Mary Stuart will be performed this evening To-morrow Marianne; or the Woman of the People, and on Wednesday Catherine the Geeond. Al At thk Thkatrb Comiqtjb the Japanese troupe will oontlnne their wonderful perform ances during tbe present week. This house has been crowded every evening since the Japanese have been there; aud as there are thousands who have not seen tbem, and who would be glad to do so, Manager Donnelly would proba bly find it profitable to Induce them to pro Jong their stay Indefinitely. Th Ababiak Niohtb' Ehtertaiwmest at Concert Hall is one of tbe most popular exhi bitions ever given in this city. Tbe perform ances are varied and attractive, and one hun dred handsome gilts are distributed to tbe audience every evening, and at the matinees.
