Of the 113 new pastors rccoinilzcd last year by the Congrefrationullsts in Enclund, but 70 were educUed atnotft them, and the remainder were supplied from other dcuoiuiuatione, mainly the Weeleyars. There are now fourteen lTRnlarly installed tot crejfational pastors in California. This is a terv fair proportion to the number of churches nd ministers of the denomination, and com pares favorably even with tho older fctutes of the Union. The South Congregational Church of Hart ford. Conn., has adopted a liturgical form of worship, tncludln the Te Deum rcspouslvcly performed, the Apostles' Creed In unison, and two Scripture "lessons," each closed with, the Episcopal formula "Thus eDdeth," etc. In Derby, Conn., In the church of which the Rev. T. M. Gray is pastor, a ftreat revival has boon experienced. Backsliders are reclaimed, and many sinners are nocking to Christ. Mnuy who have been csrelcts and impenitent arc now deeply concerned for their foul's salvation, and a large iDgHtherlng Into the church is looked for. EPISCOPAL. Msry Josephine Clift, recently deceased, bc Tjeatbed $100 to the Dorcas Society of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and $200 to the Union Benevolent Society of Philadelphia. The Rev. He has had to stand a severe catechizing from otlipr biwbops, who are far from sympathizing with him. I Bishop Eastburn has resigned the rectorship T of Trinity Church, Boston, Massachusetts. This renders vacant a second lnlluential Enisconal pulpit in that city, the Rev. Dr. Huntington's acceptance of the bishopric of Central New York baviue fust emptied one. Before receiving the signatures of some of the Episcopal bishops consenting to his conse cration, Dr. Doane wrote a letter to oue of the leading evangelical bishops, repudiating some of the early errors of his "Immature ministry," which he says he now neither holds nor teaches. The Church of England holdp in fee simple the right to property worth $140,000,000 in gold, the annual Income of which goes to support the clerev. A comparison cf the etatistlces bt the church of Rev. M. H. Tyng. Jr. (Holy Trinity, New York), with those of the doctors of divinity who condemned him, shows some suggestive facts. The united apes of the five parishes is lf5 vears; Mr. Tyng's is 4 years old. The five parishes have 1C98 communicants: Mr. Tync's, whh its chapel?, 650. The five instruct 1074 Sabbath School children; Holy Trinity instructs 1037. The five collected tor benevolent objects, $41,389: Holy Trinity raised $35,893. J. A. McGilt pastor, has been enjoying a season ol very deep religious interest. The good effect is seen and felt on the entire community, and the increased devotion, liberality, and zeal of the whole church and congregation. The Occident of San Francisco says: "The Prcbbytery af Oregoa held an unusually interes'ing and pleasaut meeting at Brownsville on December 21, 25, and 2G. The ministers were all present and the churches well represented. The usual routine of business w as attended to wits harmony.
