The official account of tho engagement between the troops and revolutionists, on the 21th instant, is as follows: The revolution ists attacked a small detachment of troops sta tioned In the town of Villa-del Cobrc, near San tlflgo, with their whole force, and succeeded lu driving them from their position. The troops then took refugo in a church. Information concerning the attack was sent to Santiago, and troops and volunteers were Immediately forwarded to Oobro. This reinforcement succeeded in surprising the revolutionists anil retaking the town. The revolu tionists lost sixty-three killed and many wounded. General Mariano, a Dominican, commanding the rebels, was killed and Colonel Perez severely wounded. The government lost three killed and ten wounded. Many dead bodies of revolutionists have since been found In ditches. All the small detachments of government troops have been called to join the main body. Havana, Nov. 30 Late advices from St. Do mingo report all quiet on the Haytien frontier The rebel General Orgando was severely wounded in the recent skirmish. Colonel Kevin, another rebel, was a prisoner, and had been sentenced to be shot, at Azua. The government troops con tinued to pursue with great activity, dispersing the bands of the Orgando faction, aud had taken many nbel prisoners. The elections were progressing quietly through out the country. Santa Anna intended to proceed from Puerto Plata to the capital. Colonel Falkans and Messrs. O'Sullivau aud Prime arrived at St. Domingo from New York. A revival of trade at Puerto Plata restored pub lic confidence throughout the republic, aud hopes are entertained of peace and prosperity. Havana, Nov. 30. The steamship Maryland sailed to-day for Baltimore. i Havana, Nov. 30 Many American', English, French and other foreign residents of this city have joined tho volunteers now in activo service, and le''t for the scat of war. Prominent citizens of Mexico hero and an ex minister of Maximilian deny that any Mexicans aro implicated in this rebellion. I etters from Cubans and others residing in Mexico confirm this state ment. Tho only foreigners who hold prominent positions among the revolutionists are Dominicans. All the Mexican refugees here seem to bo quietly awaiting a change of government or a proclamation of general amnesty by Juarez to return to their country. Later accounts of the fight at Villa del Cobre increase the number of rebel killed. A battalion composed of volunteers, army veterans and colored militia, sails to-morrow for Gibara, on tho northern coast. A battalion of volunteers has been raised in Matanzas, and will Immediately take the field. The town of Ilolijuin, defended by only twenty-live soldiers and ten citizens, was attacked by one thousand rebels, and taken. The soldiers retired into tho hospital, where they fortified them selves, and at the latest date still held out. Rein forcements have been sent to them. Count Valmazada has commenced operations iu the field. Up to the present time over live hundred persons, either actual rebels or compromised iu some way by the rebellion, have presented them selves to Valmazada and received pardon. Only two prominent citizens of Puerto Principe Joined the revolutionary party. Ono of thorn, Marquis Santa Lueea, has gone to Nuevitas, and the other, Sciicr Venveta, is at Moron.
