The programme was brilliant and attractive in tho extreme, and gave delight to every body. On next Saturday Schubert's "UnBnifched Symphony" will be presented for the first time in America. Musical Items. In tbe French capital an interesting experi ment is about to be made in the coming winter, in the way of operatic performances in the tieiman language. They are to take place at the Opera Francals on the alternate nights, when French pieces are not represented. It is thought that the development ot musical taste, and the curiosity excited by foreign musical composi tions, afloid some chance of success to the un dertaking. The principal works of the German opeia are to be given, particularly the produc tions of Richard Wagner. Tbe artists will be selected from the best singers in Germany. The administration of the Hoyal Theatre of Berlin, after long negotiations with Mad'llo NIIsbod, have at last succeeded in engaging this artist for two months from November, 1809. They had hoped that llamlel would have been represented this year In the Prussian capital, but they have been obliged to make a virtue of necessity, aud the rehearsals have consequently been adjourned. Independently of "Ophelia,'' Mad'lle Nilsson is engaged to sing the music o the "Queen of Night" in the Magio Flute. The Italian opera season in St. Petersburg will commence on November 4 and end on March 2. Pauline Lucca will appear before Christmas, and then Adelina Patti will com mence an engagement of two months from January 1. Mario and Grazlanl have also been engaged. Ole Bull gave a concert at the Academy of Music Brooklvn. on Friday evening. A large audience was in attendance, and the fine play ing of the veteran violinist exerted much enthu siasm.
