8 THE DAILY EVENING TELEGRAPH PHILADELPHIA, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2, 1868. DEMOCRACY! Naturalization in the Supremo Court. More Exposures of Fraudu lent Work. The "Professional" Vouchors Looming dp. Twelve of Them Do One-fourth of the Swearing. Etc., Eto.i EUs., Et.f E(c.t EU. We continue to-day the list of foreign-born persons nearly all of whom, as before, allege that tbey came to this country before attaining tbe age of eighteen who have been clothed with all the rights and privileges of citizenship by the Supreme Court of the State. Our re porters could obtain access to the records of the Court yesterday afternoon for an hour and a half only, so that the list which we present to day, containing 656 names, is somewhat shorter than tLat presented yesterday. As stated pro viouely, the woik of no one day Is yet complete, tbe petitions being piled up miscellaneously In the Prothonotary's office. Below will be found portions of the work of September 15, 16, 17, 21, and 24, that of tbe two last-named dsys being in addition to what we published yester day. Tbe following is a summary of the num ber of naturalizations thus far published: 1'uhtUthtil published IFftm Naturalized. Oct, i. Vet. 2, Total. Two of the men whom we classed among the professional vouchers yesterday have been ar rested already, and held la bail to answer to the charge of perjury, as will be seen elsewhere. These are James A. WaUon aud Ernest Gentner. In the case ot Watson we have already detected 31 petitions on which be figures as voucher, and In Gentnei's case 16 of the same character. That this embraces the whole of their reckless swear ing we do not believe, and not until every naturalization paper granted by the Supremo Court at the present term has been examined can the full enormity of their guilt and that of the otter prolessionats a disclosed. In each particular case an indictment for per jury would lie, and if they are tried and punished on every separate allegation of pojury that can justly be brought againBt them, they are likely to get their just deserts, and to be ren dered inactive Democrats for many years to come. The following Is tbe work of tba professionals, as far as we have been able to ferret it out: Hiaaui Jacobs, described by the Directory as a painter, residing at No. 213 Christian street, still head the list, having vouched for 38 men on the following (layer On September 16 lor 3 men. r " 17 ' 3 " i i8 4 ' 21 " 6 " 22 " 9 " " 23 " 8 " .. 2 " 6 ' Total . 38 " Timothy Donohue, who cannot be Identified from the Directory, fairly rivals Hiram Jacobs, bavng vouched tor the following: Ou September 15 for 2 men. i it 16 17 18 21 22 23 24 6 2 2 11 8 3 6 Total . . 38 " Edward McNulty, who appears twice In the Directory, and cannot therefore be Identified at present, ranks as third, having vouched for the Allowing: On September 16, for 3 men, 17. 18, 19, 21, P 23, 24, 6 3 8 6 2 7 2 Total . . 36 " George Palmer, appearing three times in the Directory, and therefore impossible of identifi cation by that, ranks as the, fourth, having vouched for the following: On September 17, for 2 men.
