W. T. Richards contributes two clever little pic turesNo. 37. "Naulucket Beach," and No. 53, "Cres cent Creek." No. 47, Crayon Portrait, by S. J. Ferris. Excellent. This artist lias few rivals in this special brancb of art. No 68. "Tbe Debtor's Prison." by the same, Is a very good picture; bandied somewhat timidly, but well drawn and full of feeling. No. 8). Portrait, by T. Henry Smith. Well and delicately bandied, fine In tone, and correct in draw ing. Mr. bmlth is a master in this branch of art. Mr. U.K. Wood contributes several pictures, the best of which Is a small sketch. No. 6ft, "Oil Sable River, Adirondack Mountains." Our advice loF. De B. Richards Is equally applicable to this artist. No. 64, "The Refugees, by D. R. Knight, contains some excellent palming. "The Colored Girl," ou toe leu. Is very fine. The design is also good, as well as tbegtouplng of the figures. Tbe general lone is not agreeable; otherwise It Is an unexceptionable picture. As a first attempt at a large picture, Mr. Knight has been very successful. Mr. Hamilton contributes nothing new, or of spe cial Interest, Medallion Portraits, No. 35, by Broome, are very line; N o. CO, by Barber, is also good. No. 8.i, By J. A. Bailey. A very excellent work: of art. beaming Wltb tender sentiment. No. 84,, tstutuette, by Ida Wuuh, promising much In tbe fu'ure. No. 8u, "Wlnle.." by Jervis McEntree. Tenderly bandied, and although a little weak, yet good. Khattuck contributes two or three pictures, which are both uleaslng and good; as does also Mr. Guy. one el which is very remarkable for its delicate handling and high Mulsh, but defective in linear perspective. There are quite a number of other contributors, whom we cannot at present notice. Tbe artists of Pennsylvania are evidently Intent upon doing their best.
