Mr. Bullock was born in Greenville, Green county, New York, iu lliiJ, wm l.dt an orphan when he was bur 8 year old, and was taken into the iainily ot his brother, with whom he subse quently learned the triple of iron founder ami machinist, at Catktll, New York. Ho soon became an expert In ptucrn-mttking, and the castings Itom his wors, young as he was, were the tmonthest turned out troin the shop. lie obtained access to books on subjects connected With his buine8, and studi"d them diligently. About the year 18;il! he went Into business on his own account, at I'rattsvillo, Now York. A few years after this lie went to Savannah, (!:., with shinple mtichinery. While pub lishing this paper he was deprived of his press, and immediately commenced his inventions In printing machinery. Alter this he turned his whole attention to the invention of his inceuioue machine. A Dr. Clark was brought he lore Recorder Eneu yesterday atteruoou, charged with embezzlement in obtaininrr money on false pretenses. Dr. Rittenhouse testified that nearly a jear ago he met Dr. Clark, who told him that a Mr. King owned a tract ot land in Colorado, worth a vast amount of money, but which he was willing to part with for $150,000, and that he intended to let his Phila delphia Iriends have the advantage of it in shares. Dr. Rittenhouse aarecd to take one share of it at $101)0, iu return for which he re ceived a certificate of stack iu the Keystone Mining Compauy of Colorado, since which time he has heard nothing of the affairs of the uompanv. Several witnesses were produced to prove that uo such tract of laud existed. The defendant was held for a farther hearing on Thursday, at 2 P. M. The Broad Street Meeting. An adjoumeil meet ing of the residents and property-owners on Dioad street was held lust evening in the Mechanic Kugine House. Mr. J. K.
