A contempo rary, referring to the subject, has prepared and presented tables of the square miles aud population ot the three (treat division of the republic. The Eastern division includes the states looking directly to the Atlantic seaboard, Which now have the canital, as It were, exclu sively to themselves. The Western division embraces t he Btates and Territories lyine west of and upon the Rocky Mountains, looking directly to th Paoflo seaboard. The third division embraces the reat Central Valley, looking directly down the Mississippi. It is claimed that to this central division properly brlonp., Western 1'ennMlvania and portions ot certain territories that lap over this side of the Kooky Mountains. Ifcsfern paper. Dedication of the Corn planter Monument This ceremony toolc place on Thursday last. The day being warm and beaahtul, with a "cloudless sky and balmy airs," a very large oncoune of people assembled at the burial ground ot Gyantwahia, the "Cornplanter." The , monument erected is placed in a conspicuous part of the ground, having a base ot sandstone, one and a half leet high; the sub-bases are of kuarble, together with the die and shaft, making eleven and a ball feet of marble.
