The report also states that up to May 1 the inspectors had reported 9105 nuisances, and the citizens 670, matins a total of 9865. The forty-eight Inch water main, connecting the lurbiue wheels at Fair mount with the Corinthian avenue reservoir, is now in working orler, and yesterday water was passing through it at the rate ol from 10,0(10 to 12,000 gallons per minute. This amount of water Is suppPid by the three turbine wheols in the new wheel-house, to which are attached six pumps. Tax Receipts. The receipts from muni cipal taxes are not very heavy at the present time, amounting daily to S5000 or $7000. There is still a laree amount due on the duplicate of 1SCC, and all who pay now receive a discount of one per cent, a month lor the balance ot the year. Every citizen should avrtd becoming a delinquent when the year closes, and thus save heavy cosis and the danger ot sale by the autho rities. IMPORTANT TO FlRE COMPANIES.
