The Deputy Marshals bud writs of injunction and of Bub pcr.na placed in their hau ls to serve upon par ties having; a lac lory at I'ennock 'a Mill, where they manufactured hard rubber com on, etc., In infringement upon the Nelson (loodvear patent. The Inctory was entered by toe Marshals, and irrvice of process made, though violent resist ance and unprovoked assault was maue upon them, both before, during, nnd after the service, by some tn workmen IdrhIo. The Marshal rapped at their door and de manded admittance, stating his oflice and authority to enter. The Mar shal expostulated with tltcm to advise their friends to come out; they declined to accede to his wib, and the door was again attempted to be lorced. At this juncture it was opened by those inside, two or three ot whom appeared tit the slight oj eniug of the door, armed, and ap I nrently in the act of tiring. Nine were thus secured. One oi those criminated by the assault and re sistance on Thuisday was teen to pass on a train for the city, and was arrested at the vVeet Phila delphia dejiot, notice having been telegcaplied to the station. Upon In formation volunteered to the detectives that a person was in the city who was strongly sus pected ot being the burglar at White's Dental Depot, in Arch street, in October last, when Needs, the colored porter, was killed, a man who gives the name of Daniel Foley was before Alderman Beiiler on Saturday last. The evi dence was as follows: Cornelius Boyer testified that he keeps, at No. 225 Acorn alley, a boarding-house lor married couples; knows Foley. who came down to his houae at Front aud Wharton streets, some time ugo, and asked him if he would buy some gold, at the same time hhowing him two sets ot teeth; also a small lump 01 gold; the plate ol gold ho showed him was about two aud a half inrhes long and two inches wide; it was Hat and thin; witne-s told Foley that ne had no niouey to buy gold; John bod Kelly was there, uud said to witness that he had better not buy the plute, as it would rrobBblv tet him into trouble. In answer to a question, Boyer told the Alder man that he and Kelly aud 1 oley huu been to ether on Friday to a drmldug house on Race street, aud hud a game ol crds there, aud that Boyer and another of the company got into a auurrcl. which ended iu u light; that he (wit ness) iivtcrfcicd, and tho result was that he and Kelly were arrested ; Boyer also. He admitted that it was not till alter his own arrest that he mentioned anything of the gold plate aud the two sets of teeth having betu oilered for sale to him by Foley. Being again questioned as to the character ot his own house, he admitted that it is a pluce ot iii-!ame. Johnson Kelly testified that he boards at No, 226 Acorn alloy, with bis wi:c. lie wus married by an alciurmau in Tenth street, near Poplar, Ire nied that the house is one ol bad repute, as Bccr, the proprietor, had sworn to. Kelly testified lurtber that he was at Boyer's bouse when Foley came there aud olfered to Bell the gold plate, and showed t o sets of teeth, lie was questioned in respect to the doings of him self. Foley, aud Boyer on Friday. Mary Boyer, wife of Cornelius, testified that she remembered Foley coming to the house while Boyer was absent, and offering to sell a gold plate. Boyer had saorn that he was present at the time. She testified, in addition, that Foley often came to the house and had oilered to sell gold coin. Tbe Alderman decided, under the circum.' stances, to commit the witnesses, as well a the accused, lor a further hearing a week henoe. The piisouer informed our reporter that he had been tending bar lately ut No. 145 South Fourth street, a respectable ale-house, aud thai be Is married, and leads an honest Hie.
