The jury rendered, the following verdict: Th8t the paid Jeremiah R ntr came to his death from inurjes received at the hands of William Leary, near Fountain Green, Twenty-Hint Ward, April 12, 18iiC. from the eilec:s of which he died at St. Joseph's Hospital the same day. Leary, the prisoner, was committed, by the Coroner. He is an Irishman by birth, twenty seven years ot ape, is married, and resides at Fountain Green. He expressed biinseli as being yery sorry for what had occurred. Tiie Connelly Theft. John and Mary E. Connelly, arrested lor heavy larceny some days ago, were on tinal hearinp yesterday after noon before Alderman Beitler. Mr. George W. Hunter, No. 34 South Twenty-first street, testi fied that about two weeks ago Mary stole from him a beautiful gold watch, left him by a de ceased grandmother. It was sold by the hus band ot the woman to a barkeeper in Chesnut street. The latter identitied the prisoner as the seller of the watch. Mrs. Marearet Mitchell, No. 216 Lombard street, testified that last December Mary lived with her under tho name ot Mary E. Stevens. She remained but half an hour, when she de camped with asilver watch and ttvc table-cloths. The latter were recovered, the watch was not. Mrs. Atkinson, No. 215 Spruce 6treet, and Mrs. McAfee, No. 311 South Third street, testified to corresponding losses. The prisoners were com mitted for trial. New Military Okoanization. A arse meeting of the officers and men of the old Glut Regiment Veterans, P. V., was held on Thursday evening, at the Court House, Sixth and Chesnut streets. Lieutenant-Colonel Charles S.
