Commodore Hull, who has been the effi cient, popular, and obliirius Commandant at the Philadelphia Navy Yard lor Home time past, ha been relieved from doty at that post, and Com modore Seltridgo appointed in his stead. Tio change took place vefcterdity morning and the occasion called forth ail interesting ceremony, followed by a very pleasant reunion at Commo dore Hull's residence. The new Commandant, Commodore stalfrldgc, entered the Navy l'arcl during the morning, and was received at the gate by the officer of the yard and the marine guard, lie was then escorted to Commodore Hull's apartment, where, alter a sociable and agreeable interview, the. transfer of papers and documeits usual in such cases took place. At hall-past elwen o'clock a salute of eleven puna was fired in honor of Commodore Hull's pennant, which floated from the ruizzenmawt ot the ,re cehlnc ship Princeton. As the last pun was dischareed the pennant was hauled down and that of Commodore Scllridge run up, which was in turn saluted with eleven guns. These cere monies over, Commodore Sellridtre, the officers of the guard, and a number of invited guests repaired to the residence of Commoiiore Hull, by special Invitation, where the entire party were entertained in a mo t liberal and hospitable manner bv the retirinc commandant and his amiable lady. Kevin offered a resolution "That the Presbytery sustain the action of the last assem bly in regard to the reconstruction of the Pres byterian Church. North and South." Last evening, about six o'clock, a bold robbery took place on Ultra street, near Arch. Mr. Charles Downer, tor- merly High Constable, was walkinar down Third street, and when in the neighborhood of Arch . street three men approached him, and one caught hold ot his watch-chain, giving it a sudden lerlc. As soon as this nad been done, one of the men took the watch, and they ran down Third into Church street, with great speed. Mr. Downer immediately gave the alarm, which reached the car of Ullicer Sanders. He eave chase, but so quick were the movements of the thieves that they were soon out oi sip tit. Two Men Stabbed. Early on Sunday mormnor a bent occurred lu a tavern on caiiow- bill street, above Broad, durine which Waemer Weist and Daniel Penrose were stabbed. Pen rose was conveyed to his home, in Sixteenth street, below Vino, and VVeist was taken to the Hospital. Weist is injured in the shoulder, side, and other portions, lie is not considered in a daneerous condition. Charles and Lewis Fruit have been'arrestsd and held for a hearing on the charge ot Deinrr implicated to the matter. About . three o'clock yesterday afternoon,,while a young man named Henry Crawage, employed in the Penn Treaty Iron Works, at the foot of Marl borough street, was throwing condemned shells into a lurnace at the mill, oue of them exploded, tearing off his right leg. He died liiit evening. Threatened to Shoot. Johnston Kelly ' and John Colcher were belore Alderman Jones upon the charge of threatening. The defendants. were together at Donnelly's saloon, Ninth and Market streets, and it is alleged that Kelly drew a pistol and threatened to ehoot Donnelly. The accused were sent below.
