paiTengers, the proprietors presume they have
adopted aregulation, which, though unknswn
to other lines of stage-, they think must meet
with general approbation, They pledge them
felvei to make good every package cm the fol
lowing conditions. The person who deliver*
the package at the office lhaU fee it entered in
the flagt-book, for which entry he 0«i! pav 6
cents ; he will then state the value of the pack
age,and pay (exclusive of the carriage) one per
cent, on the value, aa insurance, and for which
be will receive a receipt. Thus, for infWe,
it he eßimates his package at one dollar, he will
pay one cent, and if at one Imndred(dollars, he
will pay one dollar mfurance, and tc like pro
portion for package! of any other value.
Very few persons it is prefuroed, will dislike
this regulation t it will however, be optionable
with every one to avail himfelf of this security
or not. But the proprietors think it right to
state very explwit'y, that they will be respon
sible for the fafe delivery of no package, which
is not regularly entered, and for which an insur
ance receipt cannot be produced.
In the difiribution of the route, the greatest
