And it, previeutly to obtaining such certi ficate or bill of health, any mailer or captain shall fuller hislhip or veflel to approach neartr than the said Health-Office to the city of Philadelphia, or Hull land, cause or fuffer to be landed, Or brought on ffiore, at any place or port within this Com monwealth, or at any other port or place, with the intent of being conveyed into this Commonwealth, any p. rfon or persons, or any goods, wires or mer chandize, or, if after receiving such bill of health o. certificate, iy shall neglect or refufe to deliver the lam- to th'. Health-Officer, such mailer of cap tain shall forfeit ana p-y, for each and every such offence, the fnm of rive uundred dollars. And the captain or master of every ship or ves sel shall fend, a fafe and commodious boat to bring the physician on board, and shall in like manner convey him bade to the Hsalth-Office, after he has concluded hi* official examination ; And trhiie he i« making such examination, or in cafe any fuble quent examination by the Health Officer or Con sulting Physician, agreeably tq the diredians of thi- a<a, the mailer or captain shall expole or canio to be (fxpofed to th« Aeareh of the Resident Physi cian, or of the Health Officer and Consulting P|j S ciau (as the cafe may be) each and every part olihe Ihip or veflel, and (hall present to his view each and every person or persons on board thereof, and and fllall also true and l'atisfa&ory anlwers make to all such questions as the Resident Physician, &c. at the time of examination shall ask relative to the health of any port or place fr»m which the ffiip or veflel failed, or has since touched at—-the number of persons on board when the (hip or vefiel entered on her voyage—the number of persons that have since been landed or taken on board, and when and whererefpe&ively—what perfoas on board f they liafe been during tfte voyage, or shall, at the time of examination, be infeited with any pes tilential or contagious disease—and what is the pro fent state and condition of the persons on board with rcfpc<sl to their health or diseases.
