Cheering News for Watsontown.
WATSONTOWN, Ta., July 21— The
car works at this place have received a
contract from the Pennsylvania Rail
road Company, to hoi Id for them 200
hiffh sided hopper bottom gondola cars.
There is a flattering prospect for an
other large order. This will stir up
business in Watsontown.
Thought it was the Panther.
* ___
EASTOM, Pa., July 21.— William Dur
kin, a tramp who is well-known te ev
ery employe of the Lehigh Valley Rail
road from Perth Araboy to Ilazeltou,
was fatally wounded last evening at
the water tank near the Ilazle Creek
Bridge. Night Watchman Deir heard
a noise in the words, ami believing it
to be one of the numerous panthers
that have been frightening people along
the railroad went to his residence, pro
cured a revolver and fired in the direc
tion of the supposed panther. After
firing a second round a human cry was
heard. Deri* proceeded to the spot and
found Duikin bleeding from two
wounds, one on the head and another
in the body. lie was removed to
Weatherly in a dying condition, and
afteiward to'the County Hospital at
Laurytown. Perr surrendered to the
authorities.
Nearly Smothered in a Pillow-Slip.
READING, Pa., July 21.— Booke Ilar
risou, aged 19 years, soil of J. A. Har
rison, No. 422 Pi'.e street, this city,
was Dearly smothered to death this
morning. Tho young man retired as
usual last evening, but failed to come
down stairs as lie was called repeatedly.
This proved unavailing, and a member
of t-he family went to his room and
found his head accidentally enveloped
in a pillow-slip. The young man was
already unconscious, and if it had not
been for the timely ducoyery the result
might have been fatal. Mr. Harrison
is still very weak, but is regarded as
out of danger.

BURNED TO DEATH.
Two Children Roasted Alive in a
Burning Building.
ELIZABETIITOWN, Pa..July 22.— The
frame house of Rudolph Roat, at Cone
wago station, two miles west of here,
where the Colebrook Valley Railroad
connects with the Pennsylvania, took
fire last night from a defective flue.
Before it was discovered the building
was in flames, and it was impossible to
save it or to rescue all the inmates.
Two of Mr. Boat's children, aged 0 and
7 respectively, were burned to death ;
the building was entirely destroyed.
Mrs. Roat was awakened at about 9
o'clock by the light shining in her face,
and she at ODce awoke her husband.
The woman grasped her infant from
its crib and jumped from the window.
The oldest daughter was awakened by
tb9 beat and going to another bed,
where a little sister and a brflther were
sleeping, tried to arouse them, hot was
horrified to find them dead, having
been suffocated by smoke. She then
jumped from the window to save her
life. The father tried hard to rescue
the two children, but was driven back
by the smoke and heat, and to save his
own life he left the burning building.
The house was one and one half stories
Inch,built of logs and weather-boarded,
and was burned to the ground in a
very short time. The mother is al
most prostrated with grief, and it is
feared she will become deranged. The
father is also grieved at the loss of his
two children. The mother, father and
two children escaped in an almost nak
ed condition, as all clothing was burn
ed. They were taken to the residence
of Mr. Krauser, manager of the Grubb
estate, at which place Mr. Roat was
employed, and were given clothing.

Are You Bilious?
The Regulator never fails to cure. I most
cheerfully recommend it to all who suffer from
Bilious Attacks or any Disease caused by a dis
arranged state of the Liver.
KANSAS CITY, MO. W.R.BERNARD.
Do You Want Good Digestion?
I sjjffeted intensely with Full Stomach, Head
ache, etc. A neighbor, who had taken Simmons
Liver Regulator, told me it was a sure cure for
my trouble. The first dose I took relieved me
very much, and in one week's time I was as strong
and hearty as ever I was. It is the best medicine
I ever took for Dyspepsia.
RICHMOND, Va. H. G. CR&NSHAW.
Do You Suffer from Constipation ?
Testimony of HIRAM WARNER, Chief-Justice of
Ga.: " I have used Simmons Liver Regulator for
Constipation of my Bowels, caused by a temporary
Derangement of the Liver, for the last three or
four years, and always with decided benefit."
Have You Malaria ?
I have had experience with Simmons Liver Regu
lator since 1865, and regard it as the greatest
medicine of the times for diseases peculiar to
malarial regions. So good a medicine deserves
universal commendation.
