—Rev. John Tomlinson's valedictory
sermon at Aaronsburg on Sunday e -
ening, was a recapitulation of his la
bors during the past 10 years on this
charge, and was attentively listeued to
by a crowded house. His text was tak
en from the twentieth chapter of the
Acts, comprising the 18, 19, 20, 21, and
the 25, 26 and 27th verses. He devid
ed bis subjects into four parts, namely
self-vindication, self commendation,
and the matter and manner of his
preaching while pastor of his church.
His remarks were marked by the strict
confinement to the bare truth and by
the sincerity of expression so charact
eristic of his preaching. He closed his
impressive address by bidding the Aa
ronsburg people and congregation an
affectionate farewell.
On Monday morning he and his fam
ily departed for Abbottstown, York
Co., Pa., his new field of labor. Our
best wishes and sincere regiets accom
pany them.
—The editor and wife are indebted
to Miss Elmira Stover, of Penns Creek,

she presented to us. The bouquet is a
collection of 150 varieties of flowers,
very tastefully arranged and dealing

gratefully acknowledge this token of
the lady's friendship the remembrance
of which will remain fresh long after
the fragrance of the flowers ha 9 ceased
to fill our office.

from well-known and worthy persons
could be furnished to substantiate the
virtues claimed for this great medicine,
but the manufacturer prefers simply to
say any purchaser feeling the benefit
derived from the use of a bottle not
equivalent to tlie seventy-five cents in
vested in the purchase can have their
money returned.

PEACE.— Changes of climate, diet and

&c., when the wail of misery in the
"wee sma' hours of the night" an
nounce the fact, and you are sent from
your comfortable bed across lots of
down back alleys for a doctor, 'twould
be a good time to reflect that had you
only secured a bottle of Curl is' Carmel
