C. Mingle, one of your good looking, tip-top fellows, call ed to see us hist week. "Cap" is a graduate of tho JOURNAL office but is now engaged as salesman in Bauland'a Bee Hive Store Belletonte. B. M. ifering and family, of Lock lluven, passed through on Tuesday on their way to LewistOwn. Our friend and namesake called at our sanctum as well as at our dwelling but we just hap: pened to be absent. Very sony tor it. llev. She resides 111 St. Louis, Mo., and if appearance mean anything, is on good terms with the world generally. Prof. P. M. Bickie, of Pennsylvania College, gave us a short call last Satur day, The Professor is a gentleman of much Culture and a3 an educator has had eminent success. He represents old Pennsylvania College as in a flour ishing condition. Rev. W. W. Oriley and family, of Lewisburg, visited at Mr. John llright's, Aaronsburg, over Sunday. Mr.Criley preached forMr.Tomlinson at Aaronsburg, on Sunday morning, to the fullest satisfaction of the congrega tion, and also accompanied Mr. Toiu linson to his appointments at Peuns Creek and Millheim. lie seemed pleas ed with th's part of the moral vineyard. Hope he will come again. Prof. E. J. Wolf, D. D.,of the Theo logical Seminary at Gettysburg, gave us a wee bit of a chance en Saturday., to shake his landsman hand and look into his friendly face. His trip to Eu rope, last Summer, improved the doc tor's health very much. May lie long live to labor for God's cause. Mr. M. W. Ilerr, late County Super intendent of Clinton county, permitted us to sj>end a very pleasant half hour in his company, last Friday. Mr. Ilerr is a "gentleman and a scholar," and just the chap for a first class agent for that enterprising firm of school book publishers, Messrs. Ivisou, Blakeniau, Taylor & Co. Mr. Frank P. Fisher and Lady, of OraugevilJe, Ills., left Aaronsburg on Mohdav morning for their home in the west. The better half of this new firm used to be Miss Sallie Rote, before she was Mrs. Fisher; and what is more and better, Mr. Fisher's .Sallie and our own Wolfie are firm, life-long friends—and that certainly ought to have its effect on a fellow's feelinx. So then, first 011 general principals, and secondly for the special reasons above mentioned we wish the new firm all possible happiness and bliss. May God's richest blessings be theirs all the way down life's Jour ney to the end. With Mr. Fisher we have only a cas ual acquaintance, but the fact that he chooses an Aaronsburg lady for a wife speaks volumes for his good judgment. llis head is entirely level there. Q1 n is the only place in Lewisburg 010 to get tine Photographs of eve ry description. Fail not to call at Cor nelius' Gallery, 316 Market St., Lewis burg, Fa. REBERSBURG FRAGMENTS. Mr. Aaron Leitzell, our jovial huck ster is improving his liousd. ltev. E. J. Wolfe, 1). D., of the Theo logical Seminary at Gettysburg, is at present rusticating in our valley. The Doctors health seems to be somewhat improved. Several book agents were among us for the past few days, giving us the benefit of there wisdom. Fruit of every kind will be plenty. That august bod/, the Miles town ship school board met a few dys ago fixing teachers' salaries at $lB to $29 per month. That's right, gentlemen, but why not cut it down to ten dollars, < or even less ? School teachers are ail abomination anyhow. Let's abandon them. Our people art beginning to think that the cry in reference to a Ilaryest florae Picnic was all a farce •, if not they want to know more about it. How is it Mr. Journal ? ANON. [llow it is ? Why it is all a fixed fact and we all look forward with plea sure to the 2lst, We expect a rousing turn out and a good time. Editoii.] SPRING MILLS ITEMS. Pi D.
