EDS. GAZETTE:—A Furnace has been
located at Riddlesburg, in the Broad
Top Coal Field and 70 acres of land pur
chased for its use. The company, a
New York one, is composed of gentle
men who have had much experience
in iron making and abundant capital.
A single furnace will be erected at pre
sent, 11 feet base and GO feet high;
should it prove successful, others will
be added. Work will be commenced
on it iu a week or ten days and will lie
prosecuted with vigor until completed.
The whole will cost about $60,000,
when completed. It is now contempla

fall. BROAD TOP.
NEW SCHOOL HOUSE. —The citizens
of Sehellsburg have at last concluded
to build a new public school house.—
We are glad to learn this, as the old
house has become so dilapidated as to
render it unfit for use. We hope that
the new building will be an ornament
to the beautiful village, as we know it
will be a monument of their love for
the diffusion of useful knowledge.

ANTIDOTE FOR POISON.— A poison
of any degree of potency, which ha
been swallowed intentionally or by ac

gills of sweet oil. An individual with
a very strong constitution should take
twice the quantity. The oil will neu

are acquainted.
WE are pained to learn of the sud
den death of our friend, Archibald
Perdew, Esq., of Bean'scove. He was
a quiet, useful citizen, and the com

THE WORLD'S MOW ER AND REARER.
FARMERS, look to your interest, and
examine the World before purchasing
any other. Its Gearing is cut out of
solid iron and runs with the precision
of clock-work. Its iron case encloses
.the works and protects them from
sand, grass, rain, rust, &v. It will last
a lifetime, and like your watch or
clock, which runs from year to year
without variation or breakage, this
wonderful machine will cut your har
vest without any of the annoyances
and expense attending the use of cast
machines. Call and examine for your
selves. SAM'L SHUCK, Bedford,
agent for Bedford and Fulton counties.
