QUESTION - Wilson Gorrell, Forest Hill, Md.,
is trying to find information on a single wheel,
manual push-type garden seeder and where to
buy the metal seed plates (especially for lima
beans). No indentification plate can be seen
and the planter is estimated to be 40-50 years
old. The seed box is round and appears to be
cast iron.

to buy either a new or used alarm clock by

ANSWER A reader wanted to know a place
in Lancaster County to get machine smocking
done. Thanks to a reader from Southeastern
Lebanon County who does pleating and sug
gests contacting the Lancaster County Exten
sion since they have had classes for smocking
and could put her in contact with someone
that would pleat her fabric. She noted That

She writes that she received a great re
sponse and would like to thank very
much whomever sent it.
ANSWER In answer to the problem
with a sweating, dripping toliet, Nancy
Fountaine, Strykersville, N.Y., sends this
advice. She had the same problem. In
fact, it was so bad, a puddle usually
formed on the bathroom floor. She tried
various solutions that did not work until a
plumber took the back off the toliet and
put in a permanent insulated line. He had
to shut off the water to the toliet for 24
hours, so they needed to fill a pail of
water to flush the toliet for a day. Since
then, no more dripping, emptying drip
catchers, and no more drippy sponges.

to know how to get rid of a groundhog
burrowed beneath a large rock on her
urban property. A person called and rec
ommended she put a load of mothballs
down the holes. By the time the aroma of
the mothballs evaporated, the groundhog
