Heasley is an agricultural sciences teacher at the State Col lege Area School District who spoke about the increased num ber of State College students from the urban areas of the com munity particiating in vocational agriculture necessity of teaching the real aspects of agriculture in not only Pennsylvania but the en tire world. The next speaker was Marlene Reese. She and her family are dairy farmers. Reese is also a member of the Centre County and Pennsylvania Farm Bureau organization. Ashley spoke about dairy farming and statistics in Centre County. She went on to commend the three active dairy farmers which are part of the Century Farm Pro gram. She informed everyone about the Reese, Gray, and Om dorf farms and a few facts about their farm histories and com mended their remaining dedicat ion to the dairy industry. Two conservation awards were presented. The Conservatino Farmer Cooperator Award was presented to Jeff Hosterman and the Erosion Control Award to George A. Welsh Jr. Both of the recipients were commended for their work with the environment in the given occupations.
