Seidel picked 4-year-old Broege-Acres Endicot Quincy as grand champion of the show. Dale Hostetter, Annville, and his family consigned the champion cow, She was purchased by Mike Bohonik of West Middlesex, Mer cer County, for $3,050. Harold Welk leads top-selling cow, Carters-Daie Storm Candy. Long-Haven Farms of Michigan bought her for $5,300. Seidel described the VG-87 champion as “a nice package from nose to tail.” Peila Brothers of New Holland consigned the reserve champion, 5-year-old Meroos Carlton Stacy. She sold for $3,400. The second high-seller in the auction, going for $4,000, was Ke-Hills Renegade Maid, a 3-year-old cow. The sale also offered heifers, bulls, and calves, and included one herd consignment of 39 cows and 24 heifers. Exclusive Lancaster forming Look For Zartman Cow Comfort Systems At Farm Show EPHRATA (Lancaster Co.) Zartman Cow Comfort Systems Inc., Ephrata will be on hand once again at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in January. Cow mattresses make up the lion’s share of his business, according to owner Tom Zartman. “Mattresses are our main thing,” Zartman said. The cow comfort pads are manufactured, in stalled, and maintained by the company. Zartman also deals in a number of other ag prod ucts, including calf hutches, poly feed bins, foot baths, silo chute hop pers, and silo unloaders. The company’s 20-by-30-foot display in the new Expo Hall will fea ture products including mattresses, calf hutches, feeders, and a silo unload er.
