Manheim Community Farm Show wrapped up Lancaster County’s fair season last week. In sheep competition, Stepha nie Kauffman, Jimmy Zimmer man, and the Donough siblings garnered supreme championships honors as in several previous fairs. Kauffman, Landisville, showed a Southdown ewe that won su preme ewe over six breeds in competition. Wendall Landis, who judged the event, said the supreme champion sheep should have the least amount of flaws and be able to go to the next couple of levels in competition. The Southdown ewe impressed Landis for its flawless appear ance. One of Kauffman’s rams also took the reserve champion ram title. Stephanie said the lamb had been purchased at an Ohio sale. She said the ewe is afraid of peo ple, and made it difficult to show. Showing the reserve supreme champion ewe was Derek Spayd with a Shropshire yearling. Taking the supreme ram title over all breeds was another Southdown. This was shown by Jimmy Zimmerman, who has garnered many champion and re serve titles with his Southdown ram named Stroll. The Kauffman and Zimmer man Southdowns won over the following breed champions and respective showmen: Dorset ram Jen Zimmerman, Dorset ewe Johanna Rohrer. Hampshire ram Johanna Rohrer. Natural colored ram and ewe Ryan Do nough. Oxford ewe and ram Joelynn Donough. Polypay ram and ewe Heather Stallman. Shropshire ram and ewe Derek Spayd. Suffolk ram and ewe Andrew Gerhart.
