Fair on Wednesday, Aug. 13, Caity Arm entrout of Mt. Crawford had the supreme grand champion steer at the Rockingham Co. Fair. He weighed 1,185 pounds and was also lightweight division champi on. Armentrout was watching a professional baseball game on television when she was inspired to dub her steer “Dodger,” be cause one of the teams playing was the Los Angeles Dodgers. Earlier, Coffman had showed the animal at the Va. State Fair in Richmond and also, at the Beef Expo in Harrisonburg. Since its birth near Grottoes on the Begoon Farm of his grand parents, Jimmy and Barbara Be goon, Coffman had been with the steer.
