    Annual Apple Butter Boil To Take Place In Liverpool Oct. 11
LIVERPOOL (Perry Co.)
The Earner’s 52nd Annual Apple
Butter Boil will take place on
Oct. 11 in the church grove out
side of Liverpool.
The tradition of boiling apple
butter started in 1951 when the
church needed funds to help pay
expenses. Today, 52 years later,
the congregation still boils but the
profits are given to charity.
Besides the apple butter mak
ing, there are other activities on
the grounds. A pot pie dinner is
served in the dining room. It in
cludes chicken and beef pot pie,

of course, apple butter. The cost
is $6.50 for adults, $4 for childen.
Dessert is extra.
There will also be stands in the
grove selling chicken com or ham
and bean soup, bar-b-ques and
hot dogs, homemade pies, and ice
cream.
A craft stand will offer for sale
wood crafts, stain glass, baked
goods, and many other items.
A member of the congregation
wrote a recipe for the apple but
ter which describes the event
best:
“Take one small church con-
gregation, add tons of apples,
cider, and anticipation. Place in
copper kettles and boil to perfec
tion. Add cinnamon, sugar, and
lots of love, faith, and help from
God above. Mix together with
