Dairy Leaders To Be Honored At World Dairy Expo MADISON, Wis. Passion, risk taking and an eye on the bottom line are what define top busi nesses in any industry. Those characteristics also define the leaders who steer an industry when the waters of a volatile economy threaten. Four such leaders are piloting the dairy industry during a tor rent of high energy prices and low profits. For their efforts, World Dairy Expo will honor these dairy in dustry leaders during the event, Tuesday, Sept. 30 to Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wis. The 2003 World Dairy Expo Award recipients are; • Dairy Woman of the Year Linda Hodorff, Eden, Wis.; • Industry Person of the Year Calvin Coving ton, Ocala, Fla.; • International Person of the Year Peter Pad field, Epping, Essex, United Kingdom; and • Dairyman of the Year James P. “Tom” Camerlo, Jr., Florence, Colo. “Successful businessmen and women know that challenges facing an industry are merely opportuni ties for doing things better,” said Tom McKittrick, World Dairy Expo general manager. “Those that initiate change and lead in uncertain times inspire us and guarantee a bright future for the dairy indus try. These four leaders have navigated the rough economy and are determined to keep their farms and organizations on the path to profitability.” A special presentation honoring these award winners along with the show’s three-star Sponsors will be during World Dairy Expo at the 2003 Dinner with the Stars.
