A five-year-old Guernsey owned by Kendy Gable was the supreme champion at the end of a two-day open class daily show held at the Morrison’s Cove Me morial Park. Named reserve supreme was a five-year-old owned by Cessna Brothers. Judge Jason Myers of New Windsor, Maryland said that each cow well represented its breed. “They both have outstand ing frames,” he said. Jersey Named Supreme At Northeast 4-H/FFA District Dairy Show CAROLYN N. MOYER Bradford Co. Correspondent TROY (Bradford Co.) Elev en-year-old Rebecca Black, of Liberty, Tioga County, paraded her senior two-year-old Jersey into the supreme champion spot light at the recent 2003 Northeast Pennsylvania District 4-H and FFA show. More than 200 calves and cows from seven breeds were entered in the two-ring show. “Glenn and I looked at the cows when they were full of milk and we’re looking at them now, and we agreed on the cow that had it all,” said David Castrogio vanni as he and fellow judge Glenn Tripp pulled Pleasant Nook Flower Bud-ET into the center of the ring. In her three-year dairy career, Rebecca has won show manship and fitting competitions and has stood in competition for the junior champion prize, re ceiving the reserve junior cham pion distinction once. She has shown animals on the county, district, and state levels. “The most exciting thing for me about showing is when you first go into the ring,” she said. “You never know what’s going to happen.” Grand champions from each breed were in contention for the supreme champion prize.
