Movement of ready-to-cook whole birds
was moderate. Offerings were adequate
and clearing satisfactorily. Over 3.0 sizes
were noted as in the closer better balance
with immediate needs. Live supplies were
moderate; weights were desirable to light.
Processor schedules were mostly moder
ate. Less than trucklot asking prices were
unchanged at 59 to 68 cents. Trade senti
ment was at least steady. In the parts
complex, boneless/skinless breasts were
adequate to tight. Bone-in breasts were
adequate to fully adequate. Leg items
were well balanced to short. Wings were
fully adequate.

percent. Present week purchases for the
week ending July 4 were 230,223 cases
which was 14 percent above the prior
week and 5 percent below estimates.

features were in progress. The New York
shell egg inventory increased 7 percent
when compared to a week ago. Supplies
were sufficient for current needs.

The market tone was generally steady.
Demand ranged light to good with scat
tered features stimulating some addition
al interest at retail outlets. In the Mid
west, hot weather was reported as
affecting overall demand. Also, in some
areas, severe storms disrupted operations
and transportation. Supplies were mostly
adequate to closely balanced. Breaking
stock offerings were sufficient to fully
adequate for the moderate to good de
mand. Light type hens were sufficient to
hilly adequate for the light to fair de
mand.

Trucklot buying activity on ready-to
cook whole broiler/ftyers was fair to mod
erate overall. Offerings of the 3.5 pound
and larger birds remained in good bal
ance. However, the 3 pound and smaller
sizes were adequate to available. Retail
and distributive movement was fair at
best. The market tone was at least steady
on the 3.5 pound and heavier sizes, no
better than steady on the smaller birds.
