Adams Co. 4-H Presentation Night Adams County 4-H Presenta tion Night was conducted at the Adams County Ag and Natural Resources Center, May 1. Eight junior and five senior 4-H illus trated presentations were given. Eight senior and six junior pre pared speeches were presented. Four junior and one senior 4-H members presented impromptu speeches. The objective of 4-H Presenta tion Night is to provide an oppor tunity for 4-H members to prac tice organizing and presenting an idea in front of a group. Registration was organized by the 4-H Dairy Club and refresh ments were served by the 4-H Swine Club. Backtrackers 4-H Club Offers Open Youth Schooling Horse Show Backtrackers 4-H Horse and Pony Club of Northampton County is sponsoring an Open Youth Schooling Horse Show, Saturday, June 7, at the North ampton County 4-H Center, Bushkill Center Rd., Nazareth. Starting time is 9 a.m. This show is open to any youth between the ages of 8 and 18 years. It will offer walk-trot, open, jumping, and fun classes throughout the day. Each class is $5.00 per class or $2O per five classes. All entrants are required to wear a hard hat in all classes. Release forms, negative EIA status, and a rabies certificate are required before entry into the show. This show is offered as a learn ing experience for the youth of the area. It will be an informal show, appropriate riding boots, and hard hats are required, no t shirts allowed; neat, but not for mal dress required. Entrants will receive help and encouragement throughout the event. Ribbons and awards will be given in each class. There are age restrictions on certain classes and restrictions throughout divisions in the show. This allows all exhibitors an op portunity to participate and learn. All children ages 7-11 are wel come to attend. The fee per child is $35. Children are asked to bring a bag lunch; beverages will be available. The activities we are planning include making a rainmaker, pot ting your own plant, weather ac tivities, learning about soils, bugs, and animals, and even making our own snacks. To conclude; on the third day we will take a field trip to local farms. In order to accommodate more youth, this year we will hold two sessions of this popular camp. The two sessions are similar to each other. Please register for only one session. The dates and times are; Session I: Monday, June 23 through Wednesday, June 25,9:30 a.m.-3 p.m.; Session II: Monday, June 30 through Wednesday, July 2, 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Maximum enrollment is 40 children in each session. Glenburn 4-H Sewing Club Taking New Members The Glenburn 4-H Sewing Club is now taking registrations for youth to sign up for 4-H tex tile science projects. In 4-H, members learn basic clothing construction skills to complete a garment of their choice, accord ing to their experience and inter- est. Leaders, Hilda Lewis and Ann Northup of RR 4, Dalton, accept all lev els of experience from beginners to advanced including tailoring and formalwear.
