The CWT Program is a multi
dimensional, farmer-led and
farmer-funded program created
to improve milk prices by addres
sing supply and demand imbal
ances. There is an oversupply of
milk of between four and five bil
lion pounds. The CWT program
will work to achieve its goal by
providing incentives for increased
butter and cheese exports and to
encourage farmers to voluntarily
reduce milk production.
Regional supply issues have
been taken into consideration in
development of the CWT pro
gram. The program will guard
against a disproportionate loss of
production capacity on a regional
basis.
The 32 cooperative members of
NMPF are expected to formally
each year.
Olver also works with youth
involved in 4-H dairy programs.
He provides leadership to the
state 4-H dairy program and
coordinates several 4-H dairy
events, such as the Pennsylvania
Junior Dairy Show.
In addition to receiving high
praise from a host of students he
currently advises, Olver who
will receive an engraved brass
