FFA Students Compete In Eastern Regional CDE Contests

LMHS Team Tops
In Ag Mechanics
Lancaster Mennonite High
School’s Ag Mechanics FFA
team received first place honors
at the county Ag Mechanics com
petition which took place at
Lampeter-Strasburg, Feb. 25.
Team members are Ryan
Rohrer, son of Edwin and Linda
Rohrer, Paradise, who placed
first individually; Tony Zimmer
man, son of Clair Zimmerman,
Denver, and Brenda Lausch, Li
titz, second place; Mike Binkley,
son of Vickie Binkley, Bausman,
fourth; and Todd Denlinger, son
of Kenneth and Beverly Denling
er, Lancaster, sixth.
Skills tested in the competition
included electrical trouble shoot
ing, plumbing, metal fabrication
techniques, construction skills,
motor drive mechanism calcula
tions, and nutrient management
knowledge and calculations.
All of the team members have
excelled in their agriculture tech
nology studies at Lancaster Men
nonite which include welding,
machinery restoration, engine op
eration and repair, and construc

Big Spring FFA members par
ticipated in the Parliamentary
Contest and received second
place out of four.
The Big Spring FFA Chapter

ticipated in the contest recently
at the farm show complex.
The first two places go onto
the regional level then the top
three move onto the state level.
The first place went to Cumber
land Valley FFA Chapter, second
to Big Spring FFA Chapter, third
to Shippensburg FFA Chapter
and fourth to the West Perry
