Veteran Dairy Team To Lead MDIA FREDERICK, Md. —Three veteran dairy pro ducers, representing four generations of family dairy production, have been elected to lead the Maryland Dairy Industry Association (MDIA) in 2003. Robert Ramsburg of Walkersville was elected MDIA president. He is a fourth generation dairy farmer and farm leader, whose 370 acres and 100 Holstein cows provide milk to Dairy Farmers of America (DFA). Ramsburg is a board member of the Frederick County DHIA, life member of the Frederick County Farm Museum, board member of the Frederick County Farm Bureau, former state chairman of the Maryland Farm Bureau Young Farmers, and former Young Cooperator. He succeeds Myron L. Wilhide of Detour as MDIA president. James (Jimmy) Stup, Jr., also of Walkersville, was elected MDIA first vice-president. Boyd Cook, retired executive with Dairymen, Inc., of Boonsboro (Washington County) continues as secretary and ex-officio member of the MDIA Board of Directors. Also elected to the MDIA Board of Directors are three new decision-makers representing various Maryland geographical areas. New directors in clude Fonda Rowe, an executive with Tri-State Farm Automation of Hagerstown; Lester C. (Bucky) Jones, Jr., principal of Jones Dairy Service, Inc., Massey (Kent County); and Steve Matthias, re gional representative with Agway, Inc. of Westmin ster (Carroll County).
