Some of the produce for the stir-fry is produced at the Penn State horticulture Farm. The best seller at the booth, however, is the Strawberry Sur prise slush drink. About 1,400 drinks were whipped up this year. Even though they sell equally well at the Farm Show in January, they are especially refreshing on a hot sunny Au gust day. Diced watermelon and canta loupe continue to sell well along with corn-on-the-cob. The can- The streamlined, close-coupled design allows economical operation on trac tors as small as 30 horsepower on the Fax 717-626-0996 taloupes and some of the water melon were also produced at the Penn State Horticulture Farm. Overall, after direct expenses, a profit of about $2,700 was earned. Like the profits from the Association’s booth at the Farm Show, these profits enable PVGA to contribute funds for vegetable and small fruit re search and promotion. Volunteer help from PVGA members and friends is the only reason these kinds of profits are possible. The Ag Progress Days booth is especially dependent on Penn State faculty, staff, and county extension agents as growers are so busy at this time of year. 3 PT.
