DOMESTIC MARKET HIGH
LIGHTS The undertone on fresh and
frozen whole turkeys was at least steady
in Midwest and East, mixed in the West.
Retail Thanksgiving movement, as re
ported by buyers, ranged from fair to
good with some noting fresh demand was
not as aggressive as last year and better
than anticipated frozen activity. A last
minute call on frozen toms before
Thanksgiving had also resulted in better
than anticipated movement into consum
er channels. Retail whole turkey demand
for the December holidays ranged light to
instances good. Frozen offerings ranged
from tight in the East with size availabili
ty varying by packer to mixed in the
West. Bulk meat trading centered on
fresh tom breast meat at steady to lower
trending prices and on fresh mechanically
separated turkey
