Karin Mowry, a Sus quehanna County Dairy Maid, served cheese and crackers at an event a Lake Verex. Karin also did a milk mustache promotion to remind the public to consume more milk because of all the good nutrients contained in milk. Karin, 11, is the daughter of George and Pat Mowry. She has the help of her three little nieces. Although they are to young to be Dairy Maids Abigail and Jus tine Johns and Amanda Mowry like to help their Aunt Karin by accompanying her to dairy promotions. Abigail, 2, and Justine, 3, are the daughters of Tom and Heath er Johns. Amanda, 3, is the daughter of Alex and Tammy Mowry who operate the family dairy farm. The Susquehanna Dairy Court does as many promotions as they can to help educate the public on the importance of milk and milk products. Karin Mowry promotes dairy products in Susque hanna County. * Korner*# ** Logan Wins Registered Holstein Heifer COCHRANTOWN (Crawford Co.) Logan Snodgrass, son of Ron and Diane Snodgrass of Ad ams ville, has won a registered Holstein heifer calf from the Crawford County Holstein Club. Competing with 10 other youths, Snodgrass was chosen the winner by writing the best essay of 100 words or less about why he would like to own a calf and how he would care for it. Each con testant was also interviewed by the contest judges. The registered heifer calf which Snodgrass received was donated by Robert and Candace Morrell of Ebb-tide Holsteins, Cochrantown. Snodgrass must breed his heif er calf to a registered Holstein bull and the first registered heifer calf must be given back to the club to be donated to another youth. The contest is open to any Crawford County youth involved in the Junior Holstein club or 4-H between the ages of 8 and 13 Children’s Activity Book Highlights Longwood Gardens KENNETT SQUARE (Chester Co.) Longwood Gardens, the renowned horticultural display garden near Kennett Square, has Longwood Gardens near Kennett Square celebrates the season' with a holiday spectacle considered “the best Christmas display in the world” by London’s Fin ancial Times.
