The summit schedule has been
created with a farmer’s seasons
and daily tasks in mind. Large
group presentations are com
bined with small, interactive
classes beginning at 10 a.m. The
faculty includes experts in agri
cultural economics, business and
estate planners, as well as
farmer representatives on
panels that will address a
wide range of subjects. On
Thursday, classes end at
3:30 p.m. Friday closes
with a summary presenta
tion and reception.

County, the summit is an
outgrowth of a major study
focusing on the economics
of agriculture completed in
the late spring of 2002.

8.37 million head was 1 percent
below the previous year, accord
ing to the National Agricultural
Statistics Service (NASS).
Sows farrowing during this pe
riod totaled 943 thousand head, 2
percent below last year. The aver
