Supplies were ade quate to fully adequate for immediate trade needs. Breaking stock offerings were usually sufficient for the light de mand. Light type hens were at least ade quate for slaughter schedules. PHILADELPHIA: PRICES TO RE TAILERS, SALES TO VOLUME BUY ERS, USDA GRADE A AND GRADE Movement of ready-to-cook whole birds was moderate and clearing the market at a reasonable rate. Demand was moder ate with buyer interest and trading. Live supplies was moderate for the market being reported with an estimated slaughter of 1,204,000 compared to 1,294,000 last Tuesday. Weights were desirable. Processing schedules were moderate. Actual slaugh ter for the week of 11/4-11/8/02 was 6,474,973 head with an av erage weight of 5.04. Supply of breast are heavy and above av erage while demand is moderate for the market being reported. Negotiated F. 0.8. dock prices, 2 pounds and heavier ice packed broilers and flyers, trucklot sales of US Grade A or equivalent were steady at .42 -.57 per pound; less than trucklot sales .46 -.65 per pound. Prices were unchanged following Veteran’s Day. The market tone remained steady. Demand was light to moderate. The New York shell egg inventory increased 20 percent and the New Jersey shell egg inventory decreased 5 percent when com pared to the previous week.
