Clydesdales Usher In KILE Horse Breed Events ANDY ANDREWS Editor HARRISBURG (Dauphin Co.) Greenwood Farms, Rich mond, Mich., swept the supreme champions at this year’s Clydes dale Eastern Regional Show Wednesday at the Keystone In ternational Livestock Expo (KILE) here at the Farm Show Complex. Both champions, including the stallion, named American Best American Bred (4-year-old Solo mon’s Admiral), and the other, best mare (6-year-old Solomon’s Asti) were part of a group of a dozen animals purchased from Brad Remus, Osborne, Kan., according to Greenwood farm hand Andy Freitag, Richmond, Mich. At the halter for the stallion portion of the competition was Steve Robertson, Listowel, Onta rio, Canada. This is the first time KILE champion for Admiral, noted Robertston. The 4-year-old mea sures 19 hands and was pur chased as a 3-year-old from Remus. Greenwood Farms brought 14 horses to the show. As a 3-year-old, Robertson noted, Admiral had all the confir mation they required in a cham pion, and simply needed to “bloom,” he said.
