The bulk of the supply on Monday included heavier cattle with more finish on them; and prices trended firm to .25 higher. Tuesday’s run included more average fin ished steers, and bids were weaker due to the difference in quality. Buyers continue to actively pursue the top-end steers, with moderate bidding on the bulk of the run. Holstein steers sold with a weaker under tone on a thin run. The majority of the Holstein run was slightly under-finished, and buyer activity was fairly light. Slaughter heifers were in very short sup ply, therefore a trend was not established. Fleshier cows sold firm to 1.00 higher, with lean cows trading steady to .50 high er. The supply was made up of a good run of lean cows, with the breaking and bon ing cow supply still fairly light.
