Tradition Equals Lots Of Fun At Lebanon Area Fair LEBANON (Lebanon Co.) A proud part of the uniqueness of Lebanon County is the apprecia tion for agriculture and long-time tradition of county fairs. For the 46th year, Lebanon County will celebrate the reward ing experience of 4-H programs with the annual Lebanon Area Fair. From Saturday, July 27 through Saturday, Aug. 3, the Lebanon Fairgrounds, Cornwall and Rocherty roads, will be the site of a great Lebanon County tradition. The Lebanon Area Fair tradi tion continues into 2002 with its infamous track events and com petitions, always sure to draw a Scott Nolt, reserve champion Holstein at the Lebanon Area Fair, shows daughter Katelyn, year and half old, how to hold onto the big old cow at last year’s event. Revving things up on opening day at the Fair, the 4x4 trucks and mini-modified tractor pull will be conducted at the track on Saturday, July 27. Come back on Tuesday, July 30 for the Lawn and Garden Tractor Pull. A new feature is added to the fair legacy three farm stock classes running along side of the garden tractors. The track attractions don’t stop there. The “Smoker Series” will be making an appearance with clouds of dirt and dust at the track on Wednesday, July 31 and Tough Trucks are arriving on Friday, Aug. 2 The week at the fair will not end without more rolls of thun der coming from the premiere event of the Lebanon Area Fair, the Demolition Derby. On Satur day, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m., come and watch cars crash and bang as they compete for the chance to be in the final heat. After all of the demolition is over, the sky will light up with spectacular fire works bringing the Lebanon Area Fair to an end. Before the week is over, there will be plenty of things to see and do, a week of great fun and fami ly entertainment. From one fami ly to your family, Tom Crowl and the Mrs., a husband, wife, and son team, will combine magic Kyle Fleener, son of Tim and Sarah Fleener, Robeso nia, exhibited grand champi on market lamb last year at Lebanon. Alex Werner, son of Jeff and Sue Werner, Jonestown, won grand champion market goat last year at the Lebanon Fair. The goat show is sched uled this year Wednesday, July 31, at noon. and comedy to make the perfect show for all ages. Kids are sure to love Allen’s Il lusions, a variety show that in cludes rabbits, doves, music and illusions, even a puppy appearing act, in a show filled with surprise and wonder. Your children may even take part in the show and help to create a series of mystical surprises. Make sure to stop by for this magical show running on Wednesday through Friday at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m. Since 1957, 4-H and FFA members have used the Lebanon Area Fair as a means of display ing their projects, and the fair is prouder than ever to present this hard work to you this year. The annual 4-H auction will be Thursday, Aug. 1, at 6 p.m. and will consist of new merchandise and consigned items donated by local merchants.
