O-Dairy of Distinction, Lancaster Farming, Saturday, July 27,2002 JCFSGyS Everett , Bedford Countv 1 Farmowners Ray and Elaine Sollenberger recently turned the dairy operation here over to daughter Lori, who milks about 40 Jer seys. Altogether, the Sollenbergers farm about 300 acres. Terry Landis purchased this 154-acre farm along with his par- Landis did not grow up on a farm, but after working on one from ents William and Vera in 1998. He milks a total of about 40 Hoi- 1981 to 1991, purchased a 42-acre farm in the area and went into steins and Jerseys in a tie-stall barn, and grows corn, oats, and the dairy business with 20 cows. Moving to this larger farm in 1998 hay. allowed him to double the size of the herd. Hillside Farm Berlin , Somerset County Ray’s parents originally bought this rolling farm in 1945. Ray and Elaine have been on the property since 1954. Lori, married to Rex Knepp, still uses her Sollenberger name for farm business.
