March 27,2002
Report Supplied By USDA
Prices were trending lower on mediums
and sharply lower on larger sizes in most
of the major terminal markets. The mar
ket tone was weak as traders confidence
of market values take a post holiday
move. Retail movement was seasonally
active and generally reported as moderate
to good with best movement noted where
limited attractive features were in pro
gress. Supplies were irregular and usually
in a range of well balance to available for
trade needs. However, most traders were
unwilling to take on any new inventories
and were trying to get floor stocks to a
minimum level.
Breaking stock in
ventories were tight
in some locations to
fully adequate at
others. Offerings of
nest run increased
and were about ade-
quate to ample for
the light and very
cautious demand.
Light type hens were
adequate for the fair
demand.
