    State Farm Women Award
GLEN ROCK (York Co.)
The Pennsylvania Society of
Farm Women has announced its
scholarship award recipients for
2001-2002.
“We had 12 very deserving ap
plicants and were pleased to be
able to award $l,OOO scholarships
to each of them,” said Naomi
Bupp, Glen Rock, who chairs the
state organization’s scholarship
awards committee.
The Society of Farm Women
scholarship awards are granted
to eligible applicants who are
children or grandchildren of
members, and are pursuing either
home/ family management or ag
riculture-related majors in ad
vanced education programs.
Funding for the education pro
gram is two-part, according to
Bupp, who says that 40 cents of
each member’s $3 annual dues
goes to the scholarship program.
Funds available for providing
scholarship awards have gotten a
significant boost since 1991,
when the Society’s popular fund
raiser cookbook first came off the
press. More than 23,000 of the
unique cookbooks have been sold
in the 10 years since. The cook
